noooo waaaay

holy bejeebus i am blogging.

for i have been away for a while, tis true. i am going to be better about it, but i refuse to allow future blogs to be as long, as cumbersome, as time-consuming - at least in most cases. this is not because i do not want to give time to keeping you (very few) folks (that are left) updated, but because i grow weary of staring at a computer screen - especially after i do it for more/less 8 hours at work.

so. updates. yes? yes.
  • michael billingsley (friend from high school) visiting: check. check plus, actually.
  • my kid sister beth visiting: so super awesome yes please i love her.
  • flying to puerto rico: you best believe i flew to puerto rico.
naturally, the aforementioned events resulted in a lot of stories, wholehearted laughter and interesting insights (at least for me). i don't know how to talk about each of them, about all of them. but here are some highlights:

1) sleeping in the mcdonalds in the san juan airport
2) learning more things about my childhood than i could've ever imagined i could have forgotten
3) thoroughly enjoying a friend smirking at me when seeing me somehow thrown into the mix that is san francisco
4) going to the wine country. oh sweet lord the wine country is fantastic and i'm set on going more often
5) learning to reeeeeally not care about work, which is resulting in more productivity while there actually
6) fantastic shows galore
7) camping for two nights on a nearly deserted island with aquamarine waters, coconut trees and 5 friends from italy (who have now graduated from 5 friends into 5 dear friends)
8) not telling my parents about puerto rico, but having my mom's client spot me in the marketsquare in downtown san juan. blast!!
9) listening to stories of traversing hail and removing trees from the middle of the road, all to make it this faire city
10) shopping like you wouldn't beliiiiieeeeeeve with my kid sister who is and forever shall be 18x hipper than i am... hip
11) missing each of these people quite a damn bit after goodbyes

all in all - it has been really freaking good for me to see, to travel with, to talk with all of these folks who have known me for so long and so well. after a really hard winter (seriously), being dumped on, being around heaps of folks who don't know me very well at all, it was nice to remember what its like to be around folks who get me - and not just one (i.e. RUDY WHO IS AWESOME) - but many, and at different levels.

so this month really has been fantastic - i'm feeling sane again - like jen again - happier so much happier. hard to explain, really. it may also have to do with the fact that i no longer have to wake up, go to work and return from work WHILE IT IS DARK. praise be for da' summatime. for reeeeeealz.

but the news is that i will be back now. and hopefully talking (not complaining) about things - but posting the ideas that i thing are really freaking wierd/hilarious, the things that - when i speak about them - make most people in this city raise an eyebrow or become really really confused - but that make the folks who know me well smile, shake their head or laugh aloud as well.

what a damn confusing sentence that was. i should rewrite, and rewrite brilliantly at that - but rudy is sitting in front of me and possibly dying due to the conversation he's having - ahahhaahaahahaha - wait i KNOW HE IS - hahahahhahahhaha- ok i must go -

i love you guys. love love love. for realz.

jen
